One enquiry is three jobs.
Answering is only one of them. The other two are where things slip.

THE ONE-MINUTE VERSION
- Every enquiry needs a reply, a record and a follow-up.
- The reply gets done because someone is waiting. The other two are what slip.
- An automation does all three the moment an enquiry arrives, the same way every time.
An enquiry arrives. An email at nine at night, a form on your website, a message on WhatsApp.
It looks like one job: answer it. It's actually three.
The reply
Someone has to answer, ideally quickly, in your words, with the right information.
The record
The details have to go somewhere: your CRM, a spreadsheet, the job system. Otherwise the next person who deals with this customer starts from nothing.
The follow-up
If they don't reply, someone has to try again. This is the one that slips most, because on the day it's never urgent.
Why the other two slip
When a person does it, the reply wins, because there's a customer waiting. The record gets done later, or doesn't. The follow-up depends on someone remembering.
An automation doesn't have favourites. Every time an enquiry arrives it reads it, drafts a reply in your words, puts the details where they belong and sets the follow-up. Anything that goes to the customer waits for your approval at first. Logging the details doesn't need to.
